- It's an A for the Caird Hall
It is official the Caird Hall is now a Grade A listed building as confirmed by Historic Scotland as part of their Theatres Thematic Study 2008/9. This re-designation from Grade B to A more closely reflects the special architectural/historic interest of the building.
Quote Councillor Duncan

Architecturally it is so varied that everyone has a part which they either like or dislike from the exterior doric columns on the colonnade, to the Leipzig -type Concert Hall, or the French style Marryat Hall with the elaborate plasterwork to the terrazzo floored, marble corridors with the mahogany panelling. This re-grading also acknowledges the care and attention to detail which Council staff have demonstrated in the refurbishing of the Caird Hall over the years.
