Debut UK Tour – Three top Canadian comedians for the price of one!

Following a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Festival, Stewart Francis, Craig Campbell and Glenn Wool hit the road to each perform their own set, side by side, on their debut UK tour of The Lumberjacks.

These Canadian comedians are at the top of their comedy game right now. Each with their refreshingly contrasting styles, we see them come together and perform their own uniquely individual material. With something here for everyone guaranteed, the audience is in for an eclectic and exciting show.

    Stewart Francis:
‘A miracle of comic technique’ – The Times
Outstanding in his field of killer one-liners, Stewart Francis moved to the UK three years ago and rapidly established himself as one of the best comics working here right now. He soon become a star of BBC’s Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Live At The Apollo. Stewart has just finished his extensive, acclaimed UK tour Outstanding In His Field and released his second DVD, of the same name.

    Craig Campbell:
‘Campbell masters the art’ – Dagbladet (Oslo)
Craig Campbell is one of the most charismatic and inventive performers around. He has made appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard’s Good News and Dave’s One Night Stand.

In Spring 2011 Craig toured nationally with his show Craig Campbell Live, extended twice due to popular demand. He recently rejoined Frankie Boyle on tour.

Caird Hall Saturday 23 November 2013

For lovers of Sixties music, this is the ultimate, and probably never to be repeated, line-up. Don’t miss your chance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of when it all began.

Featuring record breaking Merseybeat band Gerry & The Pacemakers. The second Liverpool band to chart (after The Beatles), but the first to reach No. 1 and the first act ever to top the charts with their first three singles.

Also from Liverpool and tipped to be as big as The Beatles, The Searchers’ first single also went to No. 1 and led to five more Top 5 hits and a total of 128 weeks in the charts.

PJ Proby was a Melody Maker teen idol award winner in 1964 and spent 91 weeks in the charts.

The Fortunes stormed the Top 10 with You’ve Got Your Troubles, Here It Comes Again, Freedom Come Freedom Go and Storm in a Teacup.

And finally, Brian Poole and Chip Hawkes the original lead singers of the Tremeloes performing all the hits such as ‘Here comes my baby and Silence is golden’.

  • Ardal O’Hanlon

Caird Hall Sunday 17 November 2013

Ardal O’Hanlon is delighted to present his latest stand-up show. The style is observational, the subject matter is Life itself, and the default expression is one of utter disbelief! This show could have been called “The Shit I’ve to Put up with!” or “Why, oh why?” or even “Multiples of Ha” but no one name would do it justice. It’s that ineffable!

Lurking beneath Ardal’s mild-mannered demeanour resides a sharp and probing (and fairly mild-mannered) comic brain. Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes silly, but always punchy, he has tickled audiences all over the world. In a comprehensive set, he talks about not just the things that matter but also about the things that don’t matter at all. Which covers pretty much everything.

Although best known for his starring roles in the sitcoms, Father Ted (for which he won a British Comedy Award and a BAFTA nomination) and My Hero, Ardal’s other TV comedy dramas include Big Bad World, Blessed, Skins and Dr Who. He has appeared on his own Dave’s One Night Stand and more recently on Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. Ardal has even found the time to write a book, his best-selling novel Talk Of The Town features in the book list ‘1001 books to read before you die’

However it is as a stand-up comedian where Ardal’s true vocation lies. He sees his role in life as ‘highlighting the ridiculous.’ Avoiding the overly crass and the obvious, his only interest is the truth…if there is such a thing.
